Thinking of going on Vacation? What about the Green Mountain State. Yes there is
protextia since I am a former Vermonter. Jewish Vermont is simple and does
its best to give you information on both the tourist life and Jewsh life in the state. The
only problem I had with it is that it only listed Synagogues which had web sites. It
should have had all the synagogues with their phone numbers etc as well.

Unity is a hot issue these days.
We heard Ehud Barak preaching it after the elections. Being that this time of year
focuses on mourning and the destruction of the temples, we found a few sites that
reflect the mood of the season and the underlying theme of unity.
One of the first sites to look at is
the Common Denominator. It's a grassroots movement whose very
worthwhile and ambitious goal is to help unify the Jewish people.
"70% of Israelis expect violence between secular, religious, right & left." They have a
solution. The site is also in Hebrew.

Lack of unity and baseless hatred caused the destruction of the Second Temple.
Learn about it in Aish HaTorah's Tisha B'Av and the Three Weeks section
of their website. It deals with the what, when, and whys, of the Three weeks and
Tisha B'Av - the period of national mourning. Jewish unity is touched upon with the
famous Kamtza bar Kamtza story.

After breaking the fast of Tisha B'Av we move on towards redemption..
Some of us got to an early start.
Beged Ivri established in 1983, is the Levitical ministry used for research and
restoration of ancient Israelite customs in preparation for rebuilding the Holy Third
Temple in Jerusalem. At this site you'll find information and links relating to the
restoration of native Israelite culture and Judaica; ie. the Half Shekel, Techelet
(Biblical Blue fringe), and Ketoret(Incense of the Temple).
