Ostensibly, Star-K Online is a commercial site, but they have taken the extra step in providing us with hard to find information and for that they are to be commended. The Food Industry button links to information about the Star-K as well as their new alerts. The Kosher Consumer button leads to excellent advice regarding both appliances and, especially, the needs of the kosher traveller.

The Three Weeks, culminating in Tisha B' Av, are days that the Jewish people mourn the destruction of the first and second Temple in Jerusalem.   After more than 2,000 years since it's destruction,  it has become difficult to mourn the loss of the Temple and relate to it. What was it? What did it look like? What happened there? For those visiting Israel, these questions can be answered at the Temple Institute (Machon HaMikdash) located in the Old City of Jerusalem.  Others can take a virtual trip to this site, where they can view Temple vessels and services, as well as many other interesting articles relating to the Temple.
