The Coordination Forum for Countering Antisemitism to hold Press Conference on Sunday, January 25th at 1PM at Beit Agron Jerusalem, to present Overview of Anti-Semitic Events Worldwide and Ways to combat this phenomenon.

The Israeli Government has designated January 27th as a "National Day to Combat Antisemitism". This day coincides with the annual European commemoration of the Holocaust and the date Auschwitz was liberated.

The Minister for Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs, Natan Sharansky and the Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Sallai Meridor will present an overview of worldwide Anti-Semitic events that occurred in 2003, and ways to deal with this dangerous trend.

Recently, the Government of Israel has designated Tuesday, 27th January as "The National Day to Combat Antisemitism" in light of the rising tide of Antisemitism and attacks against Jews and Jewish and Israeli targets throughout the world.

On January 27th many activities will take place in the Israeli educational system, the Israel Defense Force, Youth Movements and at Yad Vashem. The Knesset will hold a special session with the participation of the Prime Minister and Minister Natan Sharansky who initiated "The National Day to Combat Antisemitism" and said: "Antisemitism threatens the Jewish people, the very existence of the State of Israel, and in fact the entire world and we must fight it".

During the week the Jewish Agency will hold special activities in Jewish educational frameworks throughout the world on the subject of countering Antisemitism. Similarly, Jewish Agency emissaries will initiate joint activities with Jewish communities in the Diaspora in support of Israel and against the rising tide of Antisemitism.

The Press Conference will take place on Sunday, January 25th at 1:00PM at Beit Agron, 37 Hillel St. Jerusalem with the participation of Minister Natan Sharansky and Jewish Agency Chairman, Sallai Meridor.
