Over Six Hundred Immigrants Will Be Hosted For the Seder by Veteran Israeli Families in the Jewish Agency's "Together at the Seder" Operation.

Over 600 young, newly-arrived immigrants from throughout the world who came
to Israel on Jewish Agency programs, lone immigrant soldiers will be
hosted for the Seder by veteran Israeli Families in the Jewish Agency’s
Yachad BaSeder (“Together at the Seder”) operation.
A ceremony honoring the olim (“new immigrants”) will take place
Wednesday, 9 April at 12:00. Participation in the ceremony will be the
President of the State of Israel, H.E. Mr. Moshe Katsav, the Chairman of
the Jewish Agency, Mr. Sallai Meridor, and the Co-Chair of the Agency’s
Aliyah and Klitah Committee, Mr. Arieh Azoulay. The ceremony will launch
the Agency’s “Together at the Seder” operation.
Also honored at the ceremony will be four volunteers who will be
awarded the national Yakir Klitah Award for exemplary service in the
absorption of new immigrants.
Among the many prominent Israeli personalities who volunteered to host
immigrants at the Seder are: the President of the State of Israel Moshe
Katsav, Jewish Agency Chairman Sallai Meridor; Education Minister Limor
Livnat; Construction and Housing Minister Effi Eitam, mayors of regional
councils, public figures, and many businessmen.
The Jewish Agency will likewise host a group of 40 parents of “lone
soldiers,” who will be specially brought from the Former Soviet Union to
visit their children serving in the Israel Defense Forces.
Among those who will be guests at the Seder tables of veteran
Israelis, are teenagers and young adults from throughout the world,
who came alone to Israel on educational programs such as the Na’aleh
(Hebrew acronym for “Youth before Parents”) secondary school program, and
the Selah (Hebrew acronym for “Students before Parents”) university
preparatory program, “lone soldiers,” foreign students and volunteers.
The Press is invited to attend the ceremony. Journalists desiring to
attend should come to the Presidential Residence at 11:30 AM.
Admission will be by GPO press card.
