Two additional Jewish Agency for Israel flights with humanitarian aid for Kosovo refugees will depart over the next two days for Tirana the capital of Albania

The Jewish Agency for Israel will send during the next two days two additional flights with humanitarian aid for the Kosovo refugees. The planes will depart on Tuesday May 4th, and on Wednesday May 5th, for Tirana, the Albanian capital. The aid that the planes will bring will be distributed in six refugee camps situated in the Fier district of Albania by Jewish Agency personnel and volunteers from the Israeli Humanitarian non Governmental Organization, "Latet".

The two planes will carry a total of 20 tons of equipment which includes: baby diapers, wet napkins for babies, toiletries, toothpaste, soaps, hygienic toiletries for women, underwear, rain-coats, boots, 5 tons of food, including canned food, hot meals, baby food, and 1 ton of chocolate.

In the past few days the Jewish Agency for Israel has purchased in Tirana books in Albanian for the refugees who are staying in Ma'agan Michael. The refugees' request for books was broadcast this past Friday on Yaron Enosh's program on 'Israel Radio'. The books, which include Dictionaries (Albanian-English), children's books, and history books, will be distributed in Ma'agan Michael upon the return of Wednesdays' flight to Israel.

Accompanying these flights will be a special delegation of representatives from the United Jewish Communities of North America (UJC), Chaim Chesler, Co-chairman of the Immigration Committee of the Jewish Agency for Israel, and Mike Rosenberg, Director General of the JAFI Immigration Department. In addition to these two flights JAFI has sent a total of 7 flights with over 100 tons of aid to Albania and the single flight to Macedonia which brought to Israel the 111 Kosovar refugees, took with it 10 tons of aid.
