Thanks to a recent donation n the amount of $220,000 from the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Israel's Civil Guard received 7 new patrol vehicles. The seven new Mazda Lantis patrol vehicles will be used by the Civil Guard in various communities throughout Israel to help keep neighborhoods safe.

When the refuseniks finally arrived to Israel between 1987-1988, many of them failed to find jobs that fit their professional skills and were forced to accept low level, poor paying jobs to survive. Eventually, many found themselves in a much worse socio-economical status than compared to the former Soviet Union. Today, many refuseniks have reached retirement or are close to retiring, however, most of their pensions are less than 3,000 NIS per month, just below the poverty line.
