There are short breaks between the classes. Evening classes meet 3
times a week. Monday afternoons are reserved for Chessed, while Wednesday

What are Ramim?
A Ram is a Rav who is dedicated to working with a small group of students
(15-20). Although you spend many hours with your Ram in the classroom,
what's more important is the individual time you will receive outside
the classroom. Your Ram is your Rabbi, your advisor and one of your
main sources of inspiration during the year.
What other sources of guidance will be available to me?
Apart from your Ram, there is a Mashgiach Ruchani (Rabbi Bezalel Borstein)
who is responsible for the growth of the students. He will do his best
to get to know you personally, guide you with your progress, help arrange
chavrutot and is available to help on any issue, any time. In addition,
the director, Shonny Solow will help monitor your progress and guide
your growth. . Our Madrichot are good sources for heart to heart talks
and our Eim and Av Bayit help provide you with a "home away from
home". Your "teaching assistants" who live on the premises,
are available both in and out of the Beit Medrash. All of the teaching
staff at Machon Gold work together to make sure that you feel comfortable
and that your questions are addressed.
What is Machon Gold's approach to learning?
In order for Talmud Torah to become an integral part of your life,
it is important that you love learning. Machon Gold helps you to acquire

understand the beauty that Yahadut has to offer.

What are the shiurim like?
Most morning Shiurim are an hour and a half long. Depending on the
level, part of the time is spent in Chavruta and part of the time in
shiur. About a third of the shiurim are in Hebrew. All students have
the opportunity to participate in a question and answer shiur given
by the Mashgiach Ruchani. The shiur deals with various questions that
the students themselves ask related to all areas of Jewish Life.
How will I be placed in a shiur?
The vast majority of your schedule is chosen by you! Upon arrival
at Machon Gold, students are asked to pre-register for classes they
believe will interest them. You are given approximately a month to switch
in and out of classes until you find the shiurim and rabanim/teachers
that are right for you. Shonny Solow, Rabbi Borstein , teachers and
Shana Bet students will be more than happy to advise you on the courses
that will most benefit you during the year.
What is learned in the evening classes?
Our evening classes are some of the most exciting offered at Machon.
Twice a week there are informal chaburot where students learn in small
groups and have an opportunity to really connect to their teachers.
The third night is geared toward classes that are discussion based and
help students deal with the issues that they face/will face as young
adults.
Does Machon Gold emphasize learning mussar?
Machon Gold believes that a young woman can only become a complete
áú úåøä through growth in midot.
Every student develops at her own pace and slowly discovers the areas
in her own character and in her relationship with others that need improvement.

girls wish to stay. Teachers come with their families to spend Shabbat
with you, with each Shabbat having its own special atmosphere. Approximately

in the school or visit a community as a group. When students stay at
