During the screening process, candidates creativity, team work, open-mindedness,level
of English, professional capability and general overall suitability to be
in a camp environment as well as to be a representative of the State of
Israel are all checked.
A tentative placement is made by the staff of the SSP - based on
our knowledge of the camp and its needs. Each placement is naturally subject
to final approval by the Camp Director.
Each director receives a 5 page profile of the candidate, an interview
summary and screening workshop summary. Directors are encouraged to contact
the candidate and/or to interview their candidates in Israel. It has been
proven over the years that the more pre-communication there is with the
Shaliach, the better the experience is for the camp and for the Shaliach.
