Training and In-service Training of Educational Personnel

The Pincus Fund believes that the Jewish educator is central to the educational process, and therefore has placed high priority on the training of educational personnel. It supports and encourages projects which provide pre-service training for new teachers, and projects which offer in-service training to teachers already working in the field.

The Fund takes great pride in its support for projects which have trained new teachers for the growing network of Jewish schools in the Former Soviet Union, and for other projects which have trained new teachers for countries with already established Jewish educational networks. Still other projects have provided in-service training in the use of new teaching methods, approaches, and materials; and in working with children with special needs.

As not all educational personnel work in the classroom, the Fund also supports projects which train personnel for work in informal education networks. One project trained madrichim to work in small communities in Germany. Another established an educational center for students and young adults who later will serve as madrichim ruchanim in small communities in Moldova.
