We invite you to attend
three lectures given by Leonard (Leibel) Fein, who is
a leading Jewish social activist in the United States.
In the month of December, Fein is a Visiting Scholar
at the Dept. of Jewish Zionist Education of the Jewish
Agency. Fein will lecture on the following topics:

Leibel Fein's accomplishments include:
- Author of the first scholarly book on politics of
Israel (called, "Politics of Israel");
- Former professor at MIT and Brandeis University
- Former deputy director of the MIT/Harvard Joint
Center for Urban Studies;
- Founder of Moment magazine and editor for 12 years;
- Founder of Mazon (Jewish response to hunger that
is now 17 years old and will this year distribute
its 30 millionth dollar to soup kitchens, food pantries,
and advocacy organizations);
- Founder of the National Jewish Coalition for Literacy
(encourages Jews to volunteer as reading tutors in
inner city schools, now has affiliates in 55 American
cities, 15,000 tutors each week;
- Consultant to the New Israel Fund, the Reebok Human
Rights Program the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the
Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism; and major
figure in the US-based Israel peace movement.
The lectures will take place at
Kiryat Moriah, East Talpiot, Jerusalem in Rachel
Hall.
