Intifada
by Sidney Slivko
Throughout the intifada, the PA has been engaged in a campaign
to defame Israel and the IDF in an attempt to divert attention from
its own actions and shift the blame for the violence to Israel.
This includes such claims as Israels using depleted uranium
in its bullets to the IDFs dropping poisoned candy from airplanes
into Gaza and Palestinian-controlled territories. While we cannot
prevent the dis-information in these new-age "blood libels"
from making its way to the media, we can tell you the facts, so
that you can respond.
Some recent examples:
1. The Karine A & the PA
Evidence found on board the Karine A indicates that the weaponry
originated in Iran ad that thesmuggling was financed and organized
by Fuad Shubaki, head of the financial administration of the Palestinian
General Security Services and an Arafat confidant. The ship's captain
and crew were members of the Palestinian Naval Police.
2. Rumors of His Death are Greatly Exaggerated
On April 2, PA television accused the IDF killed a priest named
Jack Amateis from St. Marys church. Days later, in an interview
with the media, the priest himself confirmed that he and the nuns
in the convent are safe.
3. We Didn't Start The Fire...
Despite reports to the contrary on Al Jazeera Television, the IDF
did not destroy or burn any mosques or churches in Bethlehem.
4. Ambulances?
Red Crescent ambulances have been used to transport weapons, ammunition
and gunmen to the front lines, in violation of international conventions
(Geneva Convention).
