The Community Ambassador Training Course

2,000 STUDENTS REGISTERED FOR COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR COURSE

The ninth session of the Community Ambassador online hasbara course opened early this month with 200 new students from around the world

Some 2,000 people from throughout the world - the majority of them from North America - have taken the course since it opened in May this year. The interactive course is jointly run by the Jewish Agency’s Education Department and the Foreign Ministry on a special website set up for this purpose. Participants include university students, businessmen, communications professionals, community representatives, educators, etc. The four-to-six-week course is the longest and most extensive of its kind.

Participants receive course materials via the web or through email. Course material, which is constantly updated includes current events, techniques in communication, the history of the Middle East conflict, the peace process, and Israeli foreign policy. The course includes individual assignments that enable the participants to gain experience in advocacy. Graduates of the course are awarded a diploma by the Foreign Ministry and the Jewish Agency.
