15 April - Ukraine - Antisemitic Reactions in the Wake of the Screening of "The Passion of the Christ"

15 April Russia - Police in the town of Kaluga arrested three young thugs in connection with the desecration of the Jewish cemetery there. According to the local police, 18 gravestones were smashed, including some that were 90 years old. The police believe that these thugs belong to an unknown youth organization. The charge brought, in keeping with Russian law, was "attacking [human] remains and their burial places by a group of people.

13 April Moldova - On 13th April 2004, the Jewish cemetery in Chisinau (Kishinev) was desecrated by neo-Nazis. They sprayed swastikas and the word "Skins" on the gravestones.

12 April Russia - On 12th April 2004, three Molotov Cocktails were thrown at the walls of the synagogue in Nizhny Novgorod. The police have mounted an investigation.

10 April Australia - A firecracker was thrown at the door of the home of an Orthodox Jew and went off. Before the cracker was thrown, someone shouted: "Let's get the Rabbi".

8 April Australia - The walls of the Mt. Sinai Kindergarten in Sydney were covered with antisemitic graffiti. The graffiti read, among other things, "Kids should die"!

8 April Lithuania - On 8th April 2004, vandal desecrated the gravestones at the old Jewish cemetery on Zaliuzu Ezeru Street in Vilnius.

7 April Venezuela - On 7th April 2004, during the Festival of Passover, antisemitic graffiti were discovered on the Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Caracas. The graffiti read: "Zionism, get out". This was not the first time that antisemitic graffiti have been daubed on this synagogue. In March 2003, similar graffiti were discovered there.

7 April Australia - On the night of 7th April 2004, an attempt was made to set the "Mizrahi" Synagogue in Sydney on fire. Four places on the steps of the synagogue caught fire, which the fire fighters easily put out. The identity of those reponsible for the act is not know.

6 April Canada - In the early hours of the morning of 6th April 2004, a Molotov Cocktail was thrown into the United Talmud Torah Jewish school in Montreal. The resulting fire caused heavy damage to 5000 books at the school. The arsonists attached a two-page letter to the front of the building in which they said that the act had been carried out in revenge for the assassination of Sheikh Ahmed Yasin. They wrote: Our intention was to set off the alarm without causing any deaths. This time, it was in an empty building. But this is only the beginning. If your crimes continue the attacks will continue. The Canadian Prime Minister condemned the arson calling it A violent act aimed at every citizen in Canada. He said that he identified with the Jewish community and denounced the incidents that had occurred recently in the country (desecration of cemeteries and antisemitic graffiti).

5 April - Country: Hungary - On 5th April 2004, hundreds of people participated in the unveiling ceremony of a statue of Pal Teleki, the Prime Minister of Hungary in the 1920s, who was the first in Europe to enact antisemitic legistlation (numerus clausus for Jewish students at Hungarian universities). In February 2004, the Hungarian Minister of Culture, Istvan Hiller, cancelled plans for setting up the statue (in Budapest) in the wake of pressures from the Wiesenthal Center. The statue, that was to have been set up opposite the President's official residents in Budapest, was eventually built in the courtyard opposite the Catholic church in the town of Balatonbolgar on the shore of Lake Balaton.

5 April, Lithuania - On 5th April 2004, vandals destroyed the Cenotaph devoted to the memory of the Holocaust victims in the Strosiunai forest (where 3000 Jews were murdered in World War II) in the town of Kaisiadroys.

5 April, Canada – The United Talmud Torah School in Montreal, Quebec, was firebombed, causing extensive damage to the library. Anti-Semitic leaflets were posted at the entrance. Television news reported that a note at the site warned: "…This is just a beginning. If your crimes continue in the Middle East, our attacks will continue." The bombing, which follows a recent rash of anti-Semitic vandalism in Toronto, Ontario, occurred on the eve of the Passover holiday. Nobody was physically injured.

14 February: Rumania – Chairman of the nationalist "Greater Rumania" Party (PRM), Vadim Todur, apologized to the Jewish People for his remarks in the past. He said, "Denying the Holocaust was a mistake on my part".

7 February: Geneva, Switzerland – Vandals broke into the old "Girsa" School and stole a computer screen. In addition, they daubed graffiti denouncing the school and the Jews. The building serves as a kindergarten for the ultra-Orthodox community in Geneva and a club house for the "Maccabi" Movement.

7 February: Curitiba, Brazil – A Suspicious box was discovered near the entrance to a synagogue. Police sappers called to the scene opened the box and discovered a transformer connected to electrical wires. It was apparently a dummy charge.

7 February: Paris, France –Two people on a motorbike passed behind the Massy Synagogue in Paris. The two drew toy pistols and shot at a number of very small girls.

5 February: Norway -- The Director of the Center for Adult Education in Kristiansand forbade a teacher at the Center to wear a Star of David claiming that it could serve as provocation of the school's Muslim students.

5 February: Britain – The "Soul-Silah" Band, a group of young Muslims in London released a new record praising Bin-Laden, Hizballah and Hamas, and promoting the idea of an anti-West Jihad. The record jacket also sports a swastika.

4 February: Chelyabinsk , Russia – Three molotov cocktails thrown at a synagogue.

4 February: Malmö , Sweden – Arab youths began tossing straws and paper at the Jews who were eating at a "MacDonald's" branch in Malmö, and shouted at them "Step outside, Jewish pigs and we'll settle things with you outside".

31 January: Mâcon, France – At a charity event on behalf of children, some 20 Muslim youths tried to prevent the Jewish singer, Shirel, from appearing on stage, shouting curses such as "We'll exterminate all of you soon". The incident lasted for about 20 minutes, after which Shirel appeared despite everything. Mme. Bernadette Chirac, wife of the President of France, was present at the event, and beyond telling the singer backstage that "This is most unfortunate", did nothing to denounce the incident.

30 January: Baku, Azerbaijan – A hand grenade was found at the entrance to the Jewish school in Baku . The incident was not reported in press, and is under investigation by the local authorities.

30 January: Brussels, Belgium – Arab youth attacked a group of Jewish students. One of the students required medical treatment.

22 January: Toronto, Canada – 2 meter-high swastika painted on wall of building housing Jewish Agency office
