King Hussein has cut short his visit to Spain, the Jordanian Prime Minister Kabariti has condemned the act and promised a severe punishment under Jordanian law for the Jordanian soldier who committed this terrible act. King Hussein is scheduled to visit the bereaved families in Beit Shemesh as well as the wounded in Haddassah Hospital, Jerusalem on Sunday, 16th of March, 1997.

Israeli Prime MInister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for condemnation of all such acts of violence and an end to incitment to violence.

An even worse tragedy was averted by the action of other Jordanian soldiers at the outpost.

Words fail to convey our horror as we hear more details about how a carefree, sunny outing ended in such tragedy for the young girls, their families and friends.

We hope that all communities and countries will condemn this atrocity.
