Dan Bus Drivers Course

"Each student comes to us with a different background and skill level."

 

60 new immigrants from Ethiopia and the Caucasus are learning to become Dan bus drivers thanks to Jewish Agency funding. "It's very simple", explained Yossi Ziskind, a man who has been behind the wheel for 35 years, including 15 years as the Dan Bus Company's drivers course director. "In the end, you get an honorable and well-paying job right away."

Internship Placement Program

Thanks to the Jewish Agency, over 150 upper-class college students, young graduates, and graduate students are placed each year in internships. "My internship in Israel helps me get ahead in my work and also allows me to see about living here", says Joseph Sherman, a California native, interning at the Bank of Jerusalem.

An Upbeat Attitude

The Jewish Agency's Fund for Lone Immigrant Students and Soldiers helped Nadya Oleynikov cover the cost of her tuition towards her final year at college. "I really wanted to learn. If I didn't have this help I would have to find work and forgo learning."
