Ibim also offers a temporary housing option for young
olim called “Kelet.” This is for young adults in need of accommodation
while waiting for a program to start or for new arrivals in the country
who are investigating their options for an initial framework. It is considered
an intermediate transit point, where young people can stay for up to 21
days. In addition to accommodation, students are also offered counseling
on a variety of practical subjects, such as medical insurance, army service
and their rights as new immigrants.
The professional staff at Ibim help guide all students
with any problems they may have. They help students integrate into their
new surroundings and advise them on possibilities for employment and future
study. They also arrange cultural and social activities, as well as seminars,
lectures and excursions to all parts of the country.
The
thousands of students who have passed through Ibim since 1992 have acquired
an advanced education, served in the Israel Defense Forces and are now
part of the rich human mosaic that will ensure Israel’s development well
into the twenty-first century.
Ibim can currently accommodate up to 400 immigrant students.
In addition, an expansion program has been initiated
to increase the student capacity of Ibim, due to growing demand.
