JEWISH AGENCY TREASURER, CHAIM CHESLER, ON TWO-WEEK SPEAKER-TOUR OF US FEDERATIONS, VISITS TO COMMUNITIES TO HELP RAISE FUNDS AND INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE JEWISH AGENCY'S WORK

Chesler: "The Search for Partnership Truly Spans the Jewish World"

Jewish Agency Treasurer, Chaim Chesler, is completing a two-week speaker-tour of U.S. Jewish Federations, aiming to increase awareness for the work of the Jewish Agency and help raise funds for the needs of the Jewish world overseas.

Among other engagements, Chesler addressed a group of lay and professional leaders at the home of Jewish Agency Chairman of the Board, Alex Grass, a Women's Division Board Meeting in Bergen County, a meeting of the Executive and Campaign Cabinet meeting in Monmouth County and a New York Federation King David Society Donor Recognition event.

"I saw true interest regarding the situation in Israel and concern for its people," says Chesler. "There is a deep sense of partnership between Israel and the Jewish communities around the world, a true family link. We are all constantly seeking new ways to help strengthen this link and allow it to find expression. It is very encouraging to realize to what degree our preoccupations are shared by our friends and colleagues."

Chesler also notes that the Jewish Agency's concern about the reduction in the funds that are being transferred to support the overseas needs of the Jewish world is "a shared concern. Our partners in the United States are also worried about this. We must increase our joint efforts to find ways to reverse the trend."
