Attack on unarmored bus at Emmanuel

Jewish Agency to purchase 20 armored vehicles to transport children living in settlements under fire

The Jewish Agency has purchased 20 armored vehicles from funds donated by Jews all over the world to bus children and the elderly to and from settlements under fire. The vehicles that were purchased at a cost of more than NIS 13 million, will be added to the fleet of 13 other vehicles, including two buses, which have been serving settlements in areas of conflict since the beginning of the school year.

JAFI Chairman Sallai Meridor, noted that this donation is an expression of the deep sense of identification of the Jewish people with the State of Israel and its citizens who are living under fire. He stressed that when the violence first erupted, Jews all over the world, raised funds to purchase armored vehicles for the residents of areas in conflict.

It should be mentioned that in yesterday's attack at Emmanuel, the bus was not armored and therefore not protected against shooting, which confirms the need for further assistance. The cost of a bus is a quarter of a million dollars and the cost of an armored vehicle for transporting children is $160,000 .
