WORKSHOP FOR ISRAELI & AMERICAN ARTISTS AT PORIYA HOSPITAL

A special art project for artists from the United States and Israel will take place at Poriya Hospital from December 3rd through December 13th, under the auspices of the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000 program.

The project will center on a meeting of well-known artists from the area around Lake Kinneret with Jewish artists from the American communities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, Milwaukee and Tulsa. These communities partner the Kinneret region (including Tiberius, the Jordan Valley and Lower Galilee, Kfar Tabor, Yavneel, Kinneret, Menahemiya and Migdal), within the context of Partnership 2000.

During the ten days of activity, artistic work will be undertaken in several areas, including sculpture, photography, painting, stained glass and engraving. The artists will work in pairs throughout the hospital grounds, and there will be an Israeli and an American artist in each pair.

A celebratory event attended by municipal leaders, public personalities, artists and the general public will conclude the project, at which point all the works will be on permanent display as a contribution to the hospital. The project is another layer in the range of activities organized by the Jewish Agency through Partnership 2000, to strengthen ties and bring together Jews from the Diaspora with those in Israel.
