WORKSHOPS ON ISRAEL AT "ISRAEL DAY" IN AMSTERDAY

An "Israel Day" for Israelis and Hebrew speakers and their families organized by the Jewish social services in Amsterdam took place earlier this month on the university campus. 500 adults and children took part in the event, which was opened by the cultural attach? at the Israeli embassy in Holland.

The participants, who came from throughout Holland, enjoyed Israeli delicacies, sing-along events, folk dancing, a Hebrew book fair, and stalls selling Israeli merchandise.

Workshops were also held on various topics such, "Israel and the Media in Holland," "How do we Respond to Criticism of Israel?" and others. Various organizations and youth movements in Holland -- Habonim, B'nei Akiva, WIZO - had booths and youth movements gave a demonstration of their activities. The Jewish Agency's Aliyah Department also had a booth that presented information on aliyah and programs for youth.
