200 JEWISH STUDENTS IN ENGLAND DEMONSTRATE SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL

A regional students conference to express support and identity with Israel took place in Manchester, England, this week. This is the second year that the conference, entitled "Israel Reality - Our Reality" is taking place, after its great success last year. Next week, the second part of the conference will take place, in London, for Jewish students studying in southern England.

The conferences are sponsored by the Union of Jewish Students in England and the Jewish Agency's Education Department. Some 200 Jewish students from various campuses throughout England are expected to take part in the two conferences.

The conferences will focus on Israel's image in the media versus the true situation; the future of the mid-East conflict; the phenomenon of the new anti-Semitism that is rearing its head; Israel's hasbara policy, etc. The conference will also provide participants with professional hasbara tools to use during discussions on campus.

The goal of the conferences is to create better understanding of the mid-East conflict, provide an understanding of its great complexity, and strengthen identification with Israel.
