DOZENS OF TEACHERS FROM THE FSU AT TRAINING SEMINAR IN ISRAEL

A training seminar for senior teachers of Hebrew in the FSU is beginning in Jerusalem this week. Thirty-five of the leading teachers in the FSU are taking part in the seminar, which is conducted by the Jewish Agency's Education Department.

More than 40,000 study Hebrew and learn about Israel at some 300 ulpanim throughout the FSU. The course of study at the ulpan prepares students for aliyah to Israel, but also familiarizes them with Jewish and Israeli culture.

Participants in the training seminar, who are exceptionally knowledgeable and highly professional, have been leading teachers in their regions for several years.

The seminar will focus on four topics: teaching Hebrew, practical experience, Jewish thought, and the Israel experience. During the three-week program, the teachers will visit sites throughout Israel.
