The World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency welcome delegates to the 34th Zionist Congress and the Jewish Agency Assembly, which are taking place in Jerusalem prior to the Jewish Agency Board of Governors meetings. We warmly welcome all the participants, from Israel and abroad. Your coming to Israel davka* this year is particularly important against the backdrop of the war of terror that has been launched against Israel. The terrorists know that walking bombs, explosives, and bullets cannot stop the building of the Jewish State. They want to destroy our Jewish spirit, our Zionist motivation. Your visit here davka runs their plans. You are occupying the hotels, providing employment for taxi drivers, buying airplane tickets, and patronizing the restaurants. In 2002, this too is Zionism. Davka this year, the Jewish Agency is fortunate to have new faces on its Board of Governors. We anticipate a continuation of the growth that has characterized the organization in recent years, and greet the new delegates with hope. We bid adieu to the old friends who have contributed so much. We thank you and are certain that together we will find a way to continue to work on behalf of the Jewish people.
