THOUSANDS EXPECTED AT PHILADELPHIA SOLIDARITY RALLY WITH ISRAEL

On Sunday, May 19th, thousands of people from the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community will gather in a secured area in front of Memorial Hall to show their solidarity with Israel. The rally begin with the sounding of shofars and a brief memorial service, led by area rabbis, as well as a singing of Psalm 23 and Oseh Shalom.

The rally will be emceed by Andrea Adelman, Chair of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Ra'anan Gissin, Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Also participating will be Reverend Robert Shine, head of Black Clergy for Philadelphia and vicinity; Gary Erlbaum, Chair of the Israel Emergency Fund; Israeli Consul General Giora Becher; and the Israeli Defense Force naval band. The rally will conclude with the singing of Hatikvah and the Star Spangled Banner by the Centennial Children's Choir, a group of over 125 children, ranging in age from 8 to 17, from the area's synagogues and day schools.
