HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS WORLDWIDE TAKE PART IN SPECIAL CLASS ON ISRAELI INFORMATION OVER THE INTERNET

Broadcast from two locations in Jerusalem to dozens of locations throughout the world.

Hundreds of students worldwide took part this week in a special class on Israeli information that was broadcast over the Internet.

The event, which was initiated by the Jewish Agency in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry and WUJS, the umbrella organization of Jewish students, was designed to provide information tools to combat pro-Palestinian propaganda activities on campuses throughout the world.

There has been a spate of recent incidents in which Jewish students on various campuses have had to contend with demonstrations of hatred directed at them and with harsh accusations regarding Israeli policy, primarily by Muslim student cells. They often don't know how to respond to these onslaughts. The class provided professional hasbara tools.

The broadcast was transmitted simultaneously from two centers in Jerusalem to several locations including Atlanta, New York, Houston, Birmingham (Alabama), York (Canada), Buenos Aires, Johannesburg, Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, Cleveland, Liverpool, St. Petersburg, and other places. Both central broadcast sites in Jerusalem, the Foreign Ministry and the Jewish Agency's "Smart Room" in Kiryat Moriah, were manned by professionals experienced in hasbara methodology.

Both the Jewish Agency and the Foreign Ministry recently targeted Jewish students in North America and Europe, who must contend with the false propaganda apparatuses of Muslims on campuses, as a high priority group.
