TWENTY SWISS CHILDREN TO SPEND SUMMER AT JEWISH AGENCY DAY CAMP IN ISRAEL

Twenty Jewish children from Switzerland landed in Israel this week for a day camp opened for them by the Jewish Agency, at the Kiryat Yearim youth village. During their month-long stay, the children will tour Israel and visit a variety of attractions and historic sites.

The Friends of Kiryat Yearim in Switzerland are organizing the visit, together with the Jewish community there. The Friends Committee, which includes Jews and non-Jews, has supported the Kiryat Yearim Youth Village for more than 50 years. The village was originally founded for humanitarian purposes to support refugee children from post-war Europe. Since then, the Swiss committee has continued to develop the village and funds a variety of Jewish Agency enrichment programs for the children living at the village.
