RESPONSE TO VIOLENCE: JEWS CONTINUE TO MOVE TO JUDEA AND SAMARIA
According to a survey carried out by Ariel Kahane, Israelis are continuing to move to Judea and Samaria -- despite the dangers and difficulties. Forecasted population changes for this coming year in a random list of communities show that while some families will probably leave Kokhav Yaakov, north of Jerusalem, 50 families are expected to arrive; 84 new families are arriving at Tel Tzion, adjacent to Kokhav Yaakov; 35 families are moving to Beit El, a handful will leave. Adam is expecting 100 new families; Hinanit, south of Um El Fahm, is completing a new absorption center that will take in 27 families. Smaller numbers of families are expected to come to Elon Moreh, Beit Haggai south of Hevron, Karmei Tzur south of Gush Etzion, Kfar Adumim south of Jericho, and Gadid and Kfar Darom in Gush Katif. Settlements such as Migdalim, west of the Jordan Valley, and Rimonim, between Jericho and Ofrah, are each expected to lose several families. |
