Zeev Bielski

Zeev Bielski was born, raised and educated in Jerusalem. He served in the Israel Defense Forces from 1967 through 1970. His last rank was Major. Zeev graduated with a BA in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In 1982, he moved with his family to Ra'anana, where he served as mayor from 1989 to 2005.

  • Member of the Council of the Society for the Protection of Nature

Awards

  • Received the “Shalem Fund” Honorary Award for his commitment and dedication 
    to the development of municipal services for the developmentally disabled.
  • Decorated as Knight of Quality Government 2000 from the Movement for the Quality of Government in Israel, for Ra'anana's outstanding management as a Local Authority, for its achievements in education, development of green areas, parks and efficient financial management.
  • Decorated as Honorary Scout 2000 by the Scouts Movement for his ongoing activities to develop and promote the Scouts Movement in Raanana and in Israel.
