Zeev Bielski was born, raised and educated in Jerusalem. He served in the Israel Defense Forces from 1967 through 1970. His last rank was Major. Zeev graduated with a BA in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In 1982, he moved with his family to Ra'anana, where he served as mayor from 1989 to 2005.

Decorated as Honorary Scout 2000 by the Scouts Movement for his ongoing activities to develop and promote the Scouts Movement in Raanana and in Israel.
