Doing Jewish
Where Jewish roots inform and inspire our everyday actions

If there is anything that the celebrated Israeli entrepreneurial spirit has shown us, it is that the power of Jewish peoplehood has boundless creative and beneficent potential. Working to build the world in turn builds the strength of individual and collective volunteerism, fostering a greater understanding that the imperative to improve the lot of humanity is a significant way to “do Jewish.”

Featured programs include:

  • Tikkun Empowerment Network or Project T.E.N. is a new Jewish service learning program where young Jewish volunteers from Israel and Diaspora communities, spend three months working with local populations in developing countries.

  • Youth Futures supports thousands of vulnerable children and families throughout Israel, connecting them with talented young mentors, or ‘trustees,’ who bring community resources to the family’s door. Similarly, in Young Communities across Israel's periphery, young, highly motivated adults are working to advance struggling communities in the fields of education and social welfare.

  • Absorption Centers offer customized social integration programs for new immigrant populations from around the world. In addition to housing provisions and Hebrew language classes, trained staff provide training and coaching for anyone entering Israel's education system, banking system and  workforce and more.

  • Specialized programs like Yesodot, Hebrew for “Foundations”, and Kedma, an acronym for promotion and advancement among the Ethiopian immigrant community, ensure that through educational and vocational training Ethiopian immigrants of all ages will advance successfully in Israeli society.
